A note from Tyler St. Clare, Tololamos’ founder:

For me, fundraising is the most challenging part of running this little organization. I have to brace myself mentally before broadsiding all of my friends, family and acquaintances with emails asking for money. At first I’ll feel anxious that no one will respond, and then I’ll feel melt-y and overwhelmed at peoples’ incredible generosity when they do.

But fundraising is also what makes all this possible! It’s how we can build drip systems, and give computers to kids, and plant oodles of trees. So it’s time to saddle up and do it again.

So far, Tololamos has been mostly dependent on a small group of intensely generous donors, most of whom are my friends and family. You guys, I love you and I appreciate you more than I can say. This year I’d like to expand our circle of donors, and get more people involved on a casual level. We’re planning to hold some fundraising events where people can learn about Tololamos and about Tololar, and participate in live Skype chats with our staff and friends in Tololar. My fundraising goals this year are mostly about how many donors we can attract, rather than on how much money we can raise.

So let’s hoist up the flag and do it! Our fundraising page (with a very nifty video) is here– please consider donating, and just as importantly please help us to spread the word. A quick email to your friends and coworkers means an awful lot to us.

Thank you, and hooray!
