The Tololamos Project was started in 2011 by Tyler St. Clare, a former Peace Corps Volunteer who had lived and worked in El Tololar, Nicaragua. The name is a derivation of the community name and the ‘we’ verb conjugation in Spanish. It is an expansion of an earlier effort by Tyler and Dr. Michael Chin, the Microloans for Community Health Program. Tololamos uses diverse approaches to promote sustainable paths out of poverty in and around the community of El Tololar, because it is the right thing to do, gosh darn it, and it’s also magnificently rewarding and fun.
